It is widely said that Nigerians are known for their vibrant and friendly energy expressed through diverse creative expressions and this is a true saying. Presently, we find prove of this statement in various sectors of the entertainment industry.

For instance, the Nigerian Afro beat has gone ahead to place Nigeria right in the center of the world’s map. Artists like Wiskid, Burna Boy, Tems and Rhema are Nigerians who portray a good amount of that artistic energy.

But beyond music we also have the impact of the film industry. It is a widely known fact that the Nigerian film industry known as Nollywood, is the second-largest in the world in terms of output, turning out over 2,500 movies each year. This amount tops Hollywood and is only surpassed by Bollywood in India. This kind of contribution puts us in the spotlight.

But among these talented and energetic people arises a promising army of people set to take things to the next level in bringing Nigeria and Africa to the world’s stage. Showing immense strength and passion, Nigerians have begun to set world records.

And an army is rising, an army of 100 thespians led by Olafemi George (Creative Director) are set to do the unimaginable. They are the TEAM NIGERIA and they have prepared themselves to go on a 100hours marathon theatre performance. 100 persons on the world’s biggest theatre stage performing for 5 days stretch without rest.

Looking at them one would see how high their spirits are and how ready they are to show the world just how strong and artistic Africans are. They will be telling our stories, unique stories about Africa and Nigeria in about 26 plays at a stretch and to usher in this challenge they have decided to take up what they call a “MOCK challenge”. The mission is to sell a million sachet water in 100 hours. This is to show the world just how ready they are for the Marathon theatre. The event will be held in Lagos, Nigeria and graced with Music and celebrity visits. They urge all Nigerians to come out to grace them with warm welcoming hands and prayers. We hope to see more of these things.
